SELMA SELMAN

Selma Selman 1991-ben született Bihácson, egy kis boszniai településen. A roma származású fiatal boszniai nő művész Veso Sovilj és Mladen Miljanović tanítványa volt a Banja Luka-i Képzőművészeti Akadémián (boszniai Szerb Köztársaság), jelenleg pedig a New York állambeli Syracuse Egyetemen folytatja tanulmányait. A performansz, a videó, a fotográfia és a festészet műfajaiban alkot. Munkáival egyszerre öleli fel illetve bontja le a roma sztereotípiákat saját tapasztalatain, élethelyzetein és történetein keresztül, ugyanakkor roma származású boszniai női alkotóként önmaga sajátos helyzetére is reflektál.
